November will be a mess- actually. I plan on finishing the Twilight Saga, the last 3 A Court of and the last 4 of Dune. I am PUSHING myself and I love it. Oh- did I mention also the book club pick? (12 total)
I read a lot in October, bringing me back on track for my 12 books this year including titles I didn’t mention. December I am going to try to read whatever on that list I haven’t plus the Throne of Glass and Destined to Feel series (Hey I may just read 30 books…)
So I know I made a booktok video but let’s get into a Court of Mist and Fury
When ACOTAR ends, so did my crush on Tamlin. I to be fair had a crush on everyone but that isn’t here or there I was NOT trusting his moves! The first 5 chapters proved me RIGHT. Not that Tamlin is bad… well, I take that back based on what he did with the King of Hybern that REALLY soured me. But I was already a Rhysand gorl- and was wondering WHERE HE WENT. I actually find it sweet he had no intention of using the bargain despite knowing Feyre was his mate and could use that to see her (screams into the void) UNTIL she was begging for help at the wedding (screaming again). Plus his genuine concern on both retrievals made me pace my bedroom- so serious.
I had to remind myself how traumatized Feyre was- and how I would be too actually despite meeting the Night Court as a reader and being frustrated with her not realizing how well she fit personality wise before you know- the Suriel told her a life changing fact. The middle is adventurous flirty, sexy even, but I feel the MEAT (Important and Needed) of the book is the first 10 chapters and the POTATOES (Comfort) is the last 10. This is my 3rd romance book ever and I need recs on anything like it. It contains my favorite tropes of angst, options, and power.
What is interesting to me is Feyre’s nativity making her the most powerful created Fae to mate with the most powerful High Lord (screaming)- let alone be his High Lady because listen Tamlin would never. Also intrigued on how her sister’s own Fae transformation will play out. I am delulu and would love to see Lucien and Elaine rule the Autumn court by the end of Wings and Ruin- But I believe the 4th/5th (IYKYK) focuses on Nesta/ has filler at that point from what I’ve seen so I am not worried about her either. I like Nesta, I feel like I relate to her most of the sisters.
My heart isn’t ready for war, but it is ready to see Feyre at full power manipulate and poison the Spring Court from within (Again all up my alley). But also Sarah PLEASE do not uno reverse a thing! Do not work, flip it, Ti esrever dna ti pilf nwod gnaht ym tup it. I cannot handle anymore BIG REVEALS or while we are at it- DEATH of anyone we have met so far except or those awful queens, the king of Hybern, or Julian. Please and thank you! Side note, I am re-reading right now as a friend reads for the first time… what if the Bone Carver was in the shape of Feyre’s child. Dark hair (Rhys) & Blue eyes from her…. I going to go excuse myself to scream and mentally prep for the other three books… thanks!
